Tom Selleck, a beloved Hollywood actor, has lived a quiet life on a California ranch with his wife for over 30 years. Born in Detroit in 1945, Selleck rose to fame as Thomas Magnum in the hit show “Magnum, P.I.” He even won a Primetime Emmy Award for his role. Despite his success, Selleck decided to quit the show in 1987 to pursue a more balanced and fulfilling life.
He married his second wife, Jillie Joan Mack, and they bought a Ventura, California ranch once owned by Dean Martin. The ranch is home to over 1,500 native trees. Selleck has been shooting the show “Blue Bloods” in New York for the past decade, and when he’s away, his wife takes care of the ranch, finding happiness in her love for animals.
Selleck explained his decision to step back from Hollywood, saying, “I quit Magnum to have a family… this ranch has helped me do that.” He and Mack have been happily married for over 30 years and raised their daughter, Hannah, on the ranch.
Despite the tranquility of their ranch life, Selleck faced controversy when accused of stealing water from a hydrant near his home. He was ordered to pay fines and banned from using water for personal needs from the Calleguas Municipal Water District.
